Job Purpose:

The Factory Manager will oversee the entire mobile phone assembly facility, ensuring smooth operations across production, quality, supply chain, compliance, and workforce management. This role is accountable for meeting production targets, maintaining high quality, ensuring compliance with BTRC, labor laws, and international standards, while driving efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Lead and manage all factory operations including production, quality, engineering, supply chain, HR, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement production strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Ensure capacity planning and long-term scalability of the factory.

2. Production & Process Management

  • Oversee multiple assembly lines (SMT, assembly, testing, and packaging).
  • Ensure production schedules are met with efficiency and cost control.
  • Introduce process automation and lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency.

3. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure strict compliance with ISO standards, BTRC regulations, and international quality certifications.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Oversee audits (internal, external, and regulatory).

4. Workforce Management

  • Manage a large workforce (500+ workers, supervisors, and engineers).
  • Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Labor Law (working hours, overtime, wages, worker rights).
  • Build a culture of discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

5. Cost, Budget & Resource Control

  • Prepare and control factory budgets (production cost per unit, overhead, labor cost).
  • Ensure effective utilization of machinery, manpower, and materials.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

6. Safety, Environment & Compliance

  • Ensure workplace safety, fire safety, ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols, and environmental compliance.
  • Lead CSR and labor welfare initiatives as per Bangladesh regulations.

7. Coordination & Reporting

  • Work closely with Sales, Procurement, R&D, Finance, and Management to align factory output with business needs.
  • Provide regular MIS reports (production, quality, cost, and workforce).

Support top management in strategic decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Industrial/Production/Electrical/Electronics Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in electronics/mobile assembly or large-scale manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior factory leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of assembly line operations (SMT, PCB assembly, testing, packaging).
  • Proven record in managing large teams and multi-shift operations.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and lean manufacturing practices.
